Hey restaurant owners! Here’s what one upstate NY restaurant is doing

to help the community.

One of our editors came across this review that explains how a NY restaurant allows customers to pay it forward by purchasing receipts for others who may not be able to afford their offerings.

The review appears to say that customers can pay a certain amount for someone else, and then receive a receipt and put it on a “pay it forward tree,” which someone could then come in and use if they don’t have any money to buy something .

Sounds like it makes sense to us, maybe you should try it sometime!

PS: We don’t normally promote restaurants who serve poison, but they do also seem to offer some plant based items on their menu.

Here’s the link, and the full review from the happycow.net website, below.

We out.

Lovely and kind cafe

Stopped by here on the trip back home and was pleasantly surprised with what they had to offer. As soon as they opened at 9:00am me and five other people were waiting in line, with more coming in. It seems to be quite the breakfast and coffee spot in the area. The cafe was really cute, plenty of indoor seating options and books to read if you want to hang out there. Also and this is the first time I’ve seen this but there’s a pay-it-forward tree with receipts on there from previous customers. If you’re struggling and hungry or don’t have money for food you can grab a receipt that someone else left for whoever needs it. I think that’s very beautiful and kind. There were a few vegan food options and the menu clearly marks what is vegan. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, the overnight oats, and two lattes with oat milk. The sandwich was damn good, everything bagel, avocado, egg replacement, red peppers, tofu and spinach. The overnight oats were so tasty that I’ve been trying to recreate them myself for days now. My only gripe was that the flavor that was vegan, almond plum vanilla, had huge whole dried plums in there. I just wish they had been cut in half or quartered. We sat outside on the bench just a few feet away and enjoyed our food very much. I recommend this cafe to anyone in or visiting the area.

Pros: Pay-it-forward tree is compassionate , Vegan options , Great atmosphere
